Ribbed Belt Assembly Overview

Before removing the ribbed belt, mark the running direction with chalk or a felt tip pen. A reversed running direction can cause damage to the belt under operating conditions.

When installing the ribbed belt, make sure it is seated correctly on the pulleys.





1 Ribbed Belt

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

2 Bolt

3 Bolt

4 Generator

5 Bolt, 43 Nm

6 Cover

For the idler pulley.

7 Bolt, 45 Nm

8 Upper Idler Pulley

For the ribbed belt.

9 Ribbed Belt Tensioner

To release the tension on the ribbed belt, rotate using a box wrench. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

10 Bolt, 22 Nm

11 Vibration Damper

With the pulley for the ribbed belt.

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Vibration Damper ] Service and Repair.

12 Lower Idler Pulley

For the ribbed belt.

13 Power Steering Pump Pulley

Removing and installing, refer to => [ Power Steering Pump Pulley ] Power Steering Pump Pulley.

14 Shim

Different thicknesses.

After replacing the power steering pump, Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor or bracket for the power steering pump and A/C compressor, determine the shim thickness => check alignment of the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Alignment, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.

15 Power Steering Pump

For the power steering.

16 Bolt, 22 Nm

17 Bolt, 40 Nm

18 Accessory Bracket

For the A/C compressor and power steering pump

Observe the alignment sleeves - item 23 - when installing.

19 Alignment Sleeves

Quantity 2.

Ensure they are seated correctly in the bracket.

20 Bolt, 22 Nm

21 Air Conditioning (A/C) Compressor

Observe the alignment sleeves - item 19 - when installing.

22 Bolt, 22 Nm

23 Alignment Sleeve

Quantity 2.

Check for proper seating.

24 Bolt, 22 Nm

25 Bolt, 23 Nm

26 Cover

For the idler pulley.
