Electrical and Electronic Components and Component Locations

Data Link Connector (DLC)





Installed location: Installed location: The DLC for the vehicle diagnosis tester in inside the footwell on the driver side.

Check the following components in Guided Fault Finding using the vehicle diagnosis tester.

Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)





Installed location: The selector lever lock solenoid is located in the shift mechanism and can only be replaced together with the shift mechanism function unit. Refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Function Unit, Manual Release Overview ] Selector Mechanism Function Unit, Manual Release Overview.

Mechatronic, Transmission Control Module (J217), Multifunction Transmission Range Switch (F125), Transmission Input Speed Sensor (G182) And Transmission Output Speed Sensor (G195)





Installed location: The Mechatronic unit is bolted to the bottom of the transmission housing and is covered by the transmission fluid pan.

The Mechatronic unit incorporates the hydraulic control, the transmission control module, the multifunction transmission range switch and the sensors and actuators as a complete synchronized unit. The following are part of:

• Transmission control module (J217)

• Multifunction transmission range switch (F125)

• Transmission input speed sensor (G182)

• Transmission output speed sensor (G195)

Only the complete Mechatronic unit can be replaced.

• OBD checks all the components named.

Internal Transmission Supply Line

Installed location: The connector - C - attached the wiring harness - A - on the Mechatronic - B -.

Transmission Range Display (Y6)





Installed location: Integrated inside the instrument cluster.

• The transmission range display can only be replaced together wit the instrument cluster.

Kick Down Switch (F8)





Installed location: The kick-down switch is found on the vehicle floor.

• Check the kick-down switch using self-diagnosis.

Tiptronic Switch (F189)





Installed location: The Tiptronic switch is integrated in the circuit board of the symbol insert, which is located in shift mechanism cover.

Coolant Shut-Off Valve (N82)

Installed location: The coolant shut-off valve - 1 - is installed underneath on the transmission, next to the ATF cooler.
