Detailed Procedure

Front Information Display Control Head Control Module J523, Removing And Installing

- Component location: Beneath dash panel central tube at bulkhead

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
- Protective cap VAS 6223/9

Removing
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine .
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove glove box.
- Remove heating duct in front passenger footwell.
- Fold back floor carpet.







- Remove bolts - arrows - and remove control module.
- Unplug connectors - 1 - and - 3 - .
- Unplug fiber optic connector - 2 - .







- Seal open wiring harness fiber optic connector - 2 - with Protective cap VAS 6223/9 - item 1 - .

NOTE: Protective cap prevents contamination of or mechanical damage to end face of fiber optic cable which would impair signal transmission.

Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:
- Install glove box.
