Starting Final Control Diagnosis



Starting Final Control Diagnosis

- With ignition off, connect Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A with Diagnostic Cable - 3 meter VAS 5051/5A to 16- pin diagnostic socket in vehicle.
- Switch on ignition or start engine.

NOTE:
- Switch on ignition (engine not running, for checking actuation of A/C Compressor Regulator Valve N280).
- Start engine (to check actuation of radiator fans).

- Set "Auto" mode on Climatronic Control Module J255 (Rear A/C Control Head (Climatronic) E265).
- Use address word "08" or "28" to select air conditioner/heater electronics or "rear AC operating element".
- Open passenger compartment vents (in dash panel, center console and "B" pillars).
- Check DTC memory. Check DTC Memory (Function 02)







Indicated on display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A:
- Select function "03 - Final control diagnosis".







Indicated on display of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051A:
- Display zone - 1 - shows which control element is currently being actuated (e.g. 1st control element in test).
- Display zone - 2 - gives a consecutive list of control elements already actuated and the one currently being actuated. The one currently being actuated appears in bottom line.

- Touch key to select next component. Function and sequence of control elements actuated "Guided Fault-Finding" function of Diagnostic Operation System VAS 5051

NOTE:
- Touch key to return to selection program.
- Final control diagnosis can be terminated by pressing C key.
- On completion of final control diagnosis, check DTC memory. Check DTC Memory (Function 02)
- If final control diagnosis is terminated, check DTC memory Check DTC Memory (Function 02) and read measured value block Reading (e.g. display group 002 for Climatronic Control Module J255).
