90 08 122011640/2
November 6, 2008. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 90 number 06-04 dated July 21, 2006 for reasons listed below.
Vehicle Information
90 Clock is Incorrect After Standing Long Periods
Condition
The clock displays the incorrect time after standing a long period of time.
Technical Background
The clock may reset when the vehicle stands for a long time when the ignition is switched off, the headlight switch is not switched to the "0" off position, and the car is locked. This is due to a production change when the parking light warning light was removed from the Instrument Cluster.
Production Solution
Implemented a new software in the Instrument Cluster (J285).
Service
- Vehicles with Instrument Cluster (J285) SW Level 0200 or 0210 Only Coding must be changed
a. Enter: Vehicle Self Diagnosis >> 17 - Dash Panel Insert >> 07 - Code Control Unit
b. Change the last digit in existing code from XXXX3 to XXXX8.
Tip:
Write down original coding before clearing it and do NOT change the numbers represented above by an X.
Example: Code 16043 must be changed to 16048
- Vehicles with Instrument Cluster (J285) SW Level 0400 or 0410
- Update the Instrument Cluster Control Module (J285), address word 17 to 0420 (or higher) via SVM using SVM Action Code: NA4E90TG01
