HID Headlamps

Observe notes on contact corrosion. Refer to => [ Contact Corrosion ] Service Precautions.

• Adjust the headlamps after performing any work that could have affected their adjustment.

Removing


Danger to life due to high voltage.

• Observe usage and safety information for gas discharge headlamps.

- Remove front bumper cover.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 3 through 5 -.





- Disconnect electrical connector - 2 -.

- Remove headlamp toward front.

Installing





Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

- Check adjustment nut - 4 - of adjusting element for smooth running - arrows -.

- Turn adjustment nut completely downward, but do not tighten.

- Insert headlamp.

- Install front bumper cover.

- Align headlamp to contours of body (gap widths).

• Headlamp can be aligned by loosening bolts - 1 through 3 - and altering height of holders.

• Headlamp can be aligned at top edge by loosening bolts - arrows - and swivelling headlamp housing.





- Tighten bolts - 1 - and - 3 through 5 -.





• Tightening bolt - 3 - automatically turns adjusting nut on adjuster towards headlamp housing mounting point and secures housing in specified location.

- When tightening, do not press on screw so that adjusting nut on adjuster can rotate freely.

- Connect battery. Required actions, refer to => [ To connect, connect terminal clamp of ground (GND) wire by hand to battery negative terminal and tighten nut. ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Adjust headlamps after installing.
