Right Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor before Catalytic Converter

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Ring spanner 7-piece set (3337)

Removing

- Remove engine.

• The engine/transmission assembly remains on the scissor lift table (VAS 6131).

- Separate electrical connector - 7 - for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (-G108-).





• Disregard the other items in the illustration.

- Expose electrical wiring to oxygen sensor.

- Remove Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 (-G108-) - arrow 1 - using ring spanner set (3337).





Installing

Perform installation in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• New oxygen sensors are coated with assembly paste; the paste must not get into slots on the oxygen sensor body.

• When re-installing a used oxygen sensor, coat the threads with hot bolt paste. This paste must not come into contact with slots on the oxygen sensor body.

• During installation, all cable ties must be re-installed at the same location.

• Wires of oxygen sensors must always be secured in the same position when installing so that contact with the exhaust pipe is avoided.

- Install engine.
