Output Diagnostic Test Mode (function 03)

Note:
^ Output Diagnostic Test Mode can be performed only with the vehicle stationary and the engine switched off.
^ IF a malfunction is indicated during Output Diagnostic Test Mode, find the cause of the malfunction and eliminate it!
^ Switch the ignition on.

The following final control elements are activated one after the other during the final control test:
^ Check control system for normal level and indicator light
^ Check the LED's in the operating unit
^ Check the release valve and the valve at left front
^ Check the release valve and the valve at right front
^ Check the compressor and the compressor relay
^ Release valve and valve at left rear
^ Release valve and valve at right rear
^ Pressure accumulator test
^ Test result

Perform Function 03 - "Output Diagnostic Test Mode"

Note: In performance of Output Diagnostic Test Mode using the VAS5051 tester, the text is shown on the display. Only figures are displayed if the VAG1551 tester is used (see below e.g. 0 178 21 Literature)

^ Press Buttons -0- and -3-.

^ Confirm the entry using the Q button.





Display:
01782: Vehicle is adjusted to standard height.
The indicator light on the instrument cluster flashes at 1 Hz.
Check visually whether the vehicle is horizontal.

^ Press the (arrow) button.

Note: The indicator light flashes at I Hz throughout the final control test.





Display:
01783: Actuation of the LED's on the self leveling suspension system operating unit.
All LED's on the operating unit illuminate in sequence.
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01784: Vehicle is lowered at front left.
The vehicle is lowered at front left by releasing air until the (arrow) button is pressed or until the stop time (approximately 30 s).
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01785: Vehicle is lowered at front right
The vehicle is lowered at front right by releasing air until the-I button is pressed or until the stop time (approximately 30 s).
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01782: Vehicle is adjusted to standard height.
Vehicle is raised back to standard height at the front.
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01786: Vehicle is lowered at rear left.
The vehicle is lowered at rear left by releasing air until the (arrow) button is pressed or until the stop time (approximately 30 s).
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01787: Vehicle is lowered at rear right
The vehicle is lowered at rear right by releasing air until the (arrow) button is pressed or until the stop time (approximately 30 s).
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01782: Vehicle is adjusted to standard height.
The vehicle is adjusted to standard height at the rear axle
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
01825: Pressure accumulator being tested.
The pressure accumulator is charged and discharged.
^ Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
The result of the pressure accumulator test is displayed
01789: Test 0. K.
01790: Test not 0.K.
In case of display 01790
Check DTC Memory
- Press the (arrow) button.





Display:
^ Press the (arrow) button
The tester is now in the basic function mode again.
