Bowden Cable For Backrest Lock, Assembly Overview
NOTE: For the sake of illustration, the seat is depicted without seat pan in the illustration.
1 - Adjustment devices for Bowden cable (2x)
2 - Bowden cable for backrest lock (2x)
- Removing
- Remove seat.
- Attach fixture for seat repair VAS 6136 to engine and transmission holder VAS 6095.
- Attach front seat to fixture for seat repair VAS 6136.
- Remove backrest panel.
- Operate the Easy Entry handle of entry assistance and fold backrest forward.
- Disengage eyelets - 4 - (2x) at bottom left and right, using pliers.
- Using a screwdriver, pry out left and right retainers - 3 - (2x).
- Remove Bowden cables - 2 - (2x) upward. Slide seat cover upward in direction of - arrow -.
- Disengage Bowden cables at brackets - 5 - and - 6 -.
- Installing
NOTE: For vehicles up to 05.02, VIN: 8H 3K 002 450: To prevent malfunctions of headrest and seatback adjustment, apply a cable tie - 7 -.
- Install Bowden cable for backrest lock in reverse order of removal.
- Adjust Bowden cables - 1 - (2x) using adjustment devices - 2 - (2x). Ensure that the lower pins at left and right are released simultaneously when the Easy Entry handle of entry assistance is operated.
