Engine Tightening Torques
Cylinder HeadReplace Cylinder head bolts.
Tighten cylinder head bolts in 4 stages in tightening sequence shown as follows:
Using torque wrench, tighten 30 Nm
Using torque wrench, tighten 60 Nm
Tighten 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
Tighten 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
Note:
It is not necessary to re-tighten the bolts.
Intake Manifold
Bolt in intake manifold in stages in diagonal sequence shown - arrows -.
Tightening torque 11 Nm
Camshaft Bearing Cap
Tighten bearing caps - E2 -, - E4 -, - A2 - and - A4 - for intake and exhaust camshafts, alternating and in diagonal sequence. Tighten remaining bearing caps in diagonal sequence.
Main Bearing Torque (Guide Frame)
Installing guide frame
- Replace bolts - 1 to 20 -.
- Tighten bolts for guide frame as follows:
- Tighten bolts - 1 to 10 - using torque wrench to 30 Nm.
- Tighten bolts - 11 to 20 - using torque wrench to 20 Nm.
- Tighten bolts - 1 to 10 - using torque wrench to 50 Nm.
- Tighten bolts - 11 to 20 - using torque wrench to 30 Nm.
- Tighten bolts - 1 to 10 - 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
- Tighten bolts - 11 to 20 - 90° (1/4 additional turn) using a rigid wrench.
- Tighten bolts for sealing surfaces of cylinder block/guide frame - dark hatching in illustration - to 9 Nm in diagonal sequence.
Connecting Rod Bearing Cap
Connecting rod bolt 30 Nm plus 1/4 turn (90°)
