Exhaust System, Component Overview







1 - 23 Nm
2 - Mounting
- Replace if damaged
3 - 40 Nm
4 - Rear clamp
- For separate replacement of center and rear mufflers
- Installed position
- Before tightening, adjust exhaust system free of stress
- Tighten bolt connections evenly
5 - Center muffler
- Center and rear muffler are one unit as original equipment and can be replaced individually for repair purposes
- Cutting location
- Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp
6 - Rubber mounting
- Replace if damaged
7 - 23 Nm
8 - Bracket
- For exhaust system mounting in drive shaft tunnel.
9 - 23 Nm
- Replace
10 - Front exhaust pipe with flexible joint
- Do not bend flexible joint more than 10 degrees otherwise it can be damaged
- Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp
11 - 40 Nm
- Replace
12 - Gasket
- Replace
13 - Exhaust manifold
14 - 23 Nm
- Replace
15 - Heated oxygen sensor
- 2x
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are already greased with assembly paste. Paste must not get into slots on sensor body
- When reusing old oxygen sensor, grease threads lightly with hot bolt paste.

17 - Oxygen sensor behind catalytic converter
- 2x
- Threads of new oxygen sensors are already greased with assembly paste. Paste must not get into slots on sensor body
- When reusing old oxygen sensor, grease threads lightly with hot bolt paste.
18 - Catalytic converter
- Protect from damage due to impact
- Aligning
19 - Front clamp
- Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp
20 - 40 Nm
21 - Rubber mounting
- Replace if damaged
22 - Mounting
- Replace if damaged
23 - 23 Nm
24 - Rear muffler
- Rear and center muffler are one unit as original equipment. Can be replaced individually for repair purposes
- Cutting location
- Align exhaust system so it is free of stress before tightening clamp







Installed position of front clamp
- Install clamps so that bolt ends do not project beyond lower edge of clamp (arrow).
- Threaded connections face to right







Installed position of rear clamp
- Install clamp so that bolt end does not project over lower edge of double clamp.
- Bolt connection faces to left

Aligning catalytic converter







- Align catalytic converter horizontally.

Distance to heat shield on right and on left in tunnel should be same on both sides.
