Valve Cover: Service and Repair






Cylinder Head Cover

Removing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Ignition Coil Puller (T40039)

Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

- Remove the engine cover and air filter.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remove the ignition coils with power output stage.

- Disconnect the EVAP line from the cylinder head cover - 1 -.






- Remove valve housing from cylinder head cover - arrows -.

- Remove crankcase ventilation line with heat shield from turbocharger - 1 -.






- Disconnect EVAP line to turbocharger from the cylinder head cover - 2 -.

- Loosen the cylinder head cover starting from the outside and working toward the inside.

- Remove the cylinder head cover.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Cylinder Head Overview ] Cylinder Head Overview

Replace the cylinder head cover gaskets if they are damaged.

- Tighten cylinder head cover from inside toward outside.

- Make sure the upper toothed belt guard is installed correctly.

- Install ignition coils with power output stage.
