Oil Pressure, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Oil Pressure Gauge (V.A.G 1342)

Procedure

• Oil level OK

• Engine oil temperature approximately 80 °C (176 °F).

- Remove oil pressure switch. Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Switch (F1) ] Service and Repair.

- Install the oil pressure switch in the (V.A.G 1342).

- Install the (V.A.G 1342) in the hole for the oil pressure switch in the oil filter bracket.

- Start the engine.

• Oil pressure at idle at least 1.2 bar.

• Oil pressure at 2000 RPM at least 2.7 bar.

- Install oil pressure switch. Refer to => [ Oil Pressure Switch (F1) ] Service and Repair.
