Audio System - No Sound in Satellite Mode

Condition
The Radio functions in AM and FM Mode but is inoperable or has reduced Functionality in Satellite Mode. No Satellite Tuner related Fault Codes may be stored in the Radio (Addressword 56) or any Fault Codes in the Satellite Tuner (Addressword 0F). If Fault Codes are stored, determine the cause via Guided Fault Finding before proceeding.
The Customer may experience one of the following Situations:
^ No Sound audible in Satellite Mode without active MUTE Symbol. Stations and current Song Information are displayed.
^ One station is displayed and playing. A change to the next station is possible only via SCAN.
^ Radio display always shows LINKING or UPDATING and vehicle is positioned with a clear view of sky.

Service
1. Verify in ETKA, ElsaWeb, Technical Bulletin 2011760 or the Satellite Tuner Matrix in AccessAudi that correct Satellite Tuner is installed.
2. If there is no Sound audible in Satellite Mode and MUTE is off, while Station Name, current Title and Song are displayed (also after changing station), replace the Satellite Tuner.
3. If only one Station is displayed and playing and a Station Change is only possible via SCAN, replace the Satellite Tuner.
4. If the Display shows LINKING or UPDATING permanently proceed as follows:
^ Verify the active Service Status in Measurement Value Block 6 (for Sirius) or 7 (XM) of the Satellite Tuner (Address word 0F). The Service Status must be personalized (yes), subscribed (yes) and activated (yes) for Sirius or bounded (yes) and subscribed (yes) for XM.
^ Interrogate the current Signal Status in Measurement Value Block 5 of the Satellite Tuner. Position 1 should be 3-4 (good - best signal quality). If it is 0-1 (no - weak signal quality), move the vehicle to another location.
^ Interrogate Measurement Value Block 8 of the Satellite Tuner to determine the Status of the Tuner and the Connection to the Roof Antenna.
If the SAT Antenna signal is indicated as Ok and/or the Operation as normal, replace the Satellite Tuner.
If the Sat Antenna is indicated as disconnected or not Ok, verify good antenna wire connection at Satellite Tuner and Roof Antenna respectively.
If necessary, test for antenna wiring harness damage by running an overlay harness (part number 000 098 653) between Roof Antenna and Satellite Tuner. Install overlay harness, if reception improves.
If malfunction persist, replace the Roof Antenna.
