Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair






Secondary Air Injection Pump Motor, Removing and Installing

- Remove the right cover - 1 - in the engine compartment, if equipped.





- Disengage Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80) from the air guide.





- Remove the bolts - arrows -.

- Remove the air duct - 2 -.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 - on the evaporative emission canister purge regulator valve (N80) and the connector - 5 - on the mass air flow sensor (G70).





- Disconnect the hoses - 1 -, - 4 -, - 6 -, - 7 -.

- Remove the air filter housing by removing the expanding clip - 2 -.

- Remove the 2 bolts which are accessible from top on secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump bracket.

- For vehicles with auxiliary heater, remove bolts - arrows - for exhaust pipe of parking heater/auxiliary heater on noise insulation.





- Loosen quick-release fasteners - 1 - and - 2 - and remove front noise insulation.





- Separate the electrical connector - 3 -.





- Disconnect air hoses - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Remove screws accessible from bottom at secondary Air Injection (AIR) pump bracket.

- Remove the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Motor (V101) and bracket.

- Separate the Secondary Air Injection (AIR) Pump Motor (V101) from the bracket if necessary.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.
