• The multi-function switch is also called the driving range sensor.
Tiptronic Switch (F189)
• Location: the Tiptronic switch is integrated in the printed circuit in the symbol panel, which is located in the shift mechanism cover.
Tiptronic Switch (F189) consists of 3 hall sensors (- A -, - B -, - C -) which are activated by magnets on the cross slide masking panel.
A Tip-down sensor
B Sensor for Tiptronic recognition
C Tip-up sensor
• If malfunctioning, start by checking whether solenoid - C - is fixed correctly to cross slide masking panel, replace masking panel if necessary. Symbol insert with integrated circuit board must only be replaced after wiring is checked. For vehicles with multi-function steering wheel, also buttons on steering wheel and corresponding wire connections must be checked.
• Ignore - A and B -.
