Selector Shaft Securing Bushings, with Transmission Installed

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Slide Hammer (VW 771)

Puller (T40054/1 -/2)

- Loosen quick-release screws - 1 to 3 - and remove front and rear noise insulation.





- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - at Back-Up Light Switch (F4).





- If clutch wiring bracket - 2 - is present, remove bolt - arrow - and remove bracket.

- Install Slide Hammer (VW 771) spindle into Puller (T40054/1 ) shaft.





- Slide puller over securing bushing - arrow A -.

- Secure puller by sliding Sleeve (T40054/2) in direction of - arrow - to stop.

- Drive securing bushing upward with Slide Hammer ( VW 771).

Removal of securing bushing - arrow B - is carried out in the same way.

Installing

- Lightly lubricate securing bushing shaft and holes in transmission with transmission oil.

- Insert securing bushing - arrow A - in Puller (T40054/1) and slide Sleeve ( T40054/2) over to secure.





- Drive securing bushing into transmission to stop with Slide Hammer (VW 771).

Do not tilt securing bushings when driving in.

Installation of securing bushing - arrow B - is carried out in the same way.

- If equipped, tighten clutch wiring bracket - 2 - together with connecting rod - arrow -. Tightening specification => [ (Item 7) Bolt, 20 Nm ] Selector Rod, Connecting Rod and Push Rod Assembly Overview.





- Connect electrical connector - 1 - at Back-Up Light Switch (F4).

- Install noise insulation.
