D-Pillar Trim

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1410)





CAUTION!

1 Upper D-pillar Trim

Removal:

- Remove upper A-pillar trim. Refer to => [ Upper A-Pillar Trim ] Upper A-Pillar Trim.

- Fold down roof grab handle - 5 -.

- Fold down lid - 4 - above bolts - 6 - on roof grab handle - 5 -.

- Remove two bolts - 6 -.

- Remove upper D-pillar trim - 1 - from upper B-pillar trim.

- Remove roof end. Refer to => [ Roof Panel ] Roof Panel.

- Unclip three clips - 2 - at D-pillar trim - 1 -.

- Remove upper D-pillar trim - 1 - from rear shelf.

- Remove D-pillar trim - 1 -.

Installing:

CAUTION!
Always follow installation sequence for D-pillar trim.

If the front and rear roof grab handles have been removed, make sure to use the roof grab handle with clothing hook when installing D-pillar trim.

- Guide D-pillar trim - 1 - first to the rear into rear shelf.

- Guide hooks - 7 - into C-pillar trim slots.

- After installing, slide D-pillar trim - 1 - with front edge beneath upper B-pillar trim and move door seal accurately over trim edges again.

- Ensure that hooks of head-level airbag adapter and clip engage properly.

CAUTION!
Ensure trim is held securely.

3 Bolt (Qty. 1)

Belongs to upper A-pillar trim, holds A-pillar trim and D-pillar trim together

4 Roof Grab Handle Cover

5 Roof Grab Handle

6 Screws, (Qty. 2)

Tightening specification 4 Nm

Self-locking

Replace after each disassembly

Threaded holes for screws must always be cleaned (for example, with thread cutter)

7 Hook
