Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- (A/T 01V), Checking
Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- (Automatic Transmission 01V), Checking
Test requirements:
- Selector lever cable adjusted correctly
Test sequence
- Disengage mounting components (arrows) and remove sound insulation.
- Disconnect harness connector (arrow) of Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- at left front on transmission.
1. Function test
- Ignition switched off.
- Connect multimeter to terminals of harness connector for Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- for resistance measurement as follows:
2. Checking voltage supply of multi-function transmission range switch
- Connect multimeter to terminals of harness connector for Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- for voltage measurement as follows:
- Switch ignition on.
Harness connector Terminal Specified value
1 + 10 approx. battery voltage
7 + 10 approx. battery voltage
If a specified value is not obtained:
- Repair open circuit in wiring or short circuit if necessary.
3. Checking wire connections between harness connector for multi-function transmission range switch and Transmission Control Module (TCM)
- Ignition switched off.
- Connect V.A.G 1598/20 test box to wiring harness of Transmission Control Module (TCM).
- Connect multimeter between terminals of 10-pin harness connector and sockets of test box e.g. V.A.G 1598/20 for resistance measurement as indicated in the following table.
- Specified value: respectively less than 1.5 Ohms
Harness connector Terminal Test box Socket
1 54 or 55
2 36
3 8
4 37
5 9
NOTE:
- If results deviate from specified value, repair open circuit in wiring according to wiring diagram and check harness connector for contact corrosion, ingress of water and leaks.
- If this test of the wire connection resulted in no deviations, Multi-Function Transmission Range (TR) Switch -F125- must be replaced.
