Parking Brake Lever with Liner
Removing
- Remove the center console extension.
- Release the handle - 1 - with a screwdriver - 3 - and remove.
- Remove the cover - 4 - and handle - 1 -.
- Remove the bolts - 2 - and remove the carrier - 1 -. (Bolt tightening specification: 6 Nm).
- Remove the floor covers.
- Remove the left floor trim approximately (8 bolts).
- Remove the inner floor trim at exhaust pipe
- Detach the rear exhaust pipe.
- Remove the heat shield at the rear of the fuel tank.
- Detach the rear tunnel heat shield.
- Disconnect the parking brake contact switch.
- Remove the bolts - 3 and 4 -.
- Remove the parking brake lever downward.
- Remove the collar nuts - 1 -. (Nut tightening specification: 25 Nm).
- Remove the parking brake lever - 2 - from the plate.
Reset the adjusting mechanism
- Clamp one of the spring loaded hooks in a vise.
- Release the mechanism with a screwdriver - 2 -, at the same time pressing back the second spring loaded hook with another screwdriver.
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal.
- Insert the parking brake cable into the compensator. (vehicles with Front Wheel Drive (FWD)).
- Insert the parking brake cable into the compensator. (vehicles with All Wheel Drive (AWD)).
- Tighten the bolt - 3 -. Tightening specification: 25 Nm
- Tighten the adapter with washer - 4 -. Tightening specification: 25 Nm
- Install the center console extension.
- Adjust the parking brake. Refer to => [ Parking Brake Adjusting ] Parking Brake Adjusting.
