Vent Frame, Checking

Vent Frame, Checking

- Check the ventilation channels to both ventilation frames - A - for obstruction (left and right).

Sealing lips - B - in air extraction outlets - A - must move freely and close automatically.

Blocked (closed) channels or jammed sealing lips may cause windows to fog up.

The figure shows the ventilation frame with the rear sedan bumper removed. A different type of ventilation frame is installed in the Avant.

One vent frame is installed on left and right for forced air extraction.

To ensure proper function of the passenger compartment ventilation, vent openings - C - integrated in the luggage compartment trim must not be sealed.
