Transmission Control Module
Removing
- Switch ignition off.
- Remove the plenum chamber cover rubber seal in direction of - arrow -.
- Remove the plenum chamber cover - 1 -.
- Pry off cover caps - 3 - with screwdriver.
- Loosen the nuts - 4 - a few turns.
- Loosen the windshield wiper arms - 2 - by gently tilting them back and forth off the wiper axle.
- Remove the nuts and remove the windshield wiper arms.
CAUTION!
To prevent the cowl vent grille - 5 - from cracking during removal, coat the space between the windshield and the grille with soapy water and remove the grille from the edge of the windshield starting at the clamping strip.
- Remove the clips - 1 - and remove cowl vent grille - 5 -.
- Remove the E-box cover in the plenum chamber - arrow -.
- Pry off the bracket with a screwdriver - arrows -.
- Lay aside ECM with connectors connected.
- Remove the transmission control module bracket.
• The control module connector may be connected or disconnect only after 30 seconds after the ignition is switched off.
- Unlock the connector - arrow - and disconnect it from the transmission control module.
• Adaptation values in Transmission Control Module (TCM) are reset when disconnecting the harness connector. Control module must learn this value again after bringing into operation again. Gear changing quality may be poorer than normal during this "learning" process.
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
