01V,01VA Transmission
Selector Mechanism, Disassembling and Assembling
• Securing spring for locking cable, removing and installing.
• Replace the complete selector mechanism if the gate or the shift mechanism housing is faulty. It is not possible to adjust both components using workshop equipment.
Disassembling
- Place selector lever in position "S".
- Remove Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) - item 7 - => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] 01V,01VA Transmission.
- Remove the gate - 12 - from the selector mechanism housing - 14 -.
- Release pivot pins - 5 - and - 19 - and pull them out from the side.
- Unclip retaining brackets - 2 - and - 16 -.
- Pull off retaining clip - 17 -.
- Swing locking lever - 11 - fully upwards.
- Pull selector lever - 6 - with bushings - 3 - and - 15 - as well as Tiptronic locking levers - 4 - and - 18 - downward out of selector housing - 14 -.
Assembling
- Make sure the selector lever is in "S".
- Swing locking lever - 11 - fully upwards.
- Insert selector lever - 6 - from below into selector housing - 14 -.
- Connect locking levers for Tiptronic - 4 - and - 18 - as well as bushings - 3 - and - 15 - on selector lever.
- Press the selector lever - 6 - and bushings into selector housing - 14 - and position it with retaining clip - 17 -.
- Engage retaining brackets - 2 - and - 16 - on selector housing.
- Push pivot pins - 5 - and - 19 - into selector lever - 6 - until they engage.
- Check whether mounting pins in Tiptronic locking lever engage.
- Install Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) - item 7 - => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] 01V,01VA Transmission.
- Mount the gate - 12 - and the selector mechanism housing - 14 - and tighten it to 0.4 Nm.
Retaining Spring Locking Cable, Removing and Installing
Removing
- To remove locking cable, slightly lift spring at top - arrow B -.
- Unhook spring at retaining tab - arrow C - and remove toward top.
Installing
- Insert spring - arrow B - from top and hook in at retaining clip - arrow C -.
- Align spring so that it is seated evenly in groove - arrow A -.
- To install the locking cable, slightly lift spring at top - arrow B -.
