Seat Height Adjustment Handle






Front Seats

From 06.2006, the usual wiring harness routing to connector station under front seat. Refer to => [ Connectors, Disconnecting ] Front Seats has been replaced with modular wiring routing => [ Modular Wiring Routing Assembly Overview, from June 2006 ] Front Seats.

The modular wiring routing has not been implemented for all countries.

Check version of front seat and of vehicle and perform repairs accordingly.

Note the two possible versions of the modular wiring routing, Modular Light or Modular. Refer to => [ Modular Wiring Routing Versions ] Front Seats.

Seat Height Adjustment Handle





1 - Seat Height Adjustment Handle

Removing

- Remove seat.

- Mount the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136) on the engine and transmission holder (VAS 6095).

- Attach the front seat to the fixture for seat repair (VAS 6136).

- Create an assisting tool. Refer to => [ Create Assisting Tool to Remove Seat Height Adjustment Handle ].

- Pull seat height adjustment handle - 1 - away from seat a little.

- Guide assisting tool - 2 - into mount - 4 -.

- Pull assisting tool - 2 - in direction of arrow - A - to push spring - 3 - back.

- Pull seat height adjustment handle - 1 - in - direction of arrow B -.

Installing

- Ensure retaining clamp is positioned on seat height adjustment handle lever. Note installation position => [ Retaining Clamp Installation Position ].

- Install the seat height adjuster handle - 1 - in reverse order of removal.

Create Assisting Tool to Remove Seat Height Adjustment Handle





- Bend a screwdriver - 1 - with a width - 2 - of 3.5 mm and dimensions - A - 20 mm and - B - max. 15 mm.

Retaining Clamp Installation Position





- Ensure springs - 2 - (Qty. 2) in retaining clamp - 3 - are positioned on outside of lever - 1 -.
