Rear Tie Rod

Tie rod, removing and installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
^ Torque wrench VAG 1332

Note:
^ Perform wheel alignment after completing repairs.

Removing
- Remove wheel.
- Remove coil spring.





- Disconnect bolt connections - 1 - and - 2 - and remove tie rod.

Installing

Note:
^ Replace bolts and self-locking nuts.





- Initially tighten nuts on bolt connections - 1 - and - 2 - to 20 Nm.
- Install coil spring.





- Tighten bolt connections - 1 - and - 2 - and.
- Bonded rubber bushings can only be turned to a limited extent. The mountings of suspension links must only be tightened when suspension is in the curb weight position.
- Perform wheel alignment.

Wheel alignment must be performed on wheel alignment equipment recommended by Audi.
