Fuel Tank with Attachments Component Overview
1 Fuel line
• From fuel filter
• To engine
• Do not kink
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
2 Vent line
• From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
• Do not kink
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
• Clipped in on fuel tank
3 2 Nm
4 Tire protection shield
• For fuel delivery connection
5 23 Nm
• Serves to secure fuel filler neck and Ground (GND) connection - 11 -
6 Overflow hose
• Engage in wheel housing
7 Rubber gasket
8 Circlip
9 Seal
• Replace if damaged
10 Cap
11 Ground (GND) connection
• For discharging electrostatic charge
• Installed position / check requirements => [ Installation position of Ground (GND) connection ]
• Ensure secure seating of connector and secure wire with securing bolt for fuel filler tube - 5 -
• After installing, check electrical connection of metal ring at fuel filler tube to a bare area of chassis using Ohm meter - Specified value: approximately 0ohms
12 Vent line

• From gravity valve to EVAP canister
• To remove, press release ring on EVAP canister
14 Vent line
• From EVAP canister to Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Canister Purge Regulator Valve (N80)
• To remove, press release ring on EVAP canister
• Clipped in on fuel tank
15 Fuel Tank
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Tank with Attachments ] With FWD as of 11.04
16 Heat shield
• For fuel tank
17 2 Nm
18 Heat shield
• For fuel tank
19 2 Nm
20 Spreader clip
21 Securing strap
• Observe varying lengths
22 23 Nm
Installation position of Ground (GND) connection
- Route Ground (GND) connection as shown in figure.
- First, engage contact - 1 - of Ground (GND) connection into securing opening on fuel tank - 5 - and then press in spacer bushing - 2 -.
- Ensure connector of Ground (GND) connection - 4 - fits securely at metal ring - 3 - of fuel filler tube.
CAUTION!
After installing, check electrical connection of metal ring at fuel filler tube to a blank portion of chassis using Ohm meter:
• Specified value: approximately 0 Ohm.

1 Fuel delivery unit
• Fuel pump electrical, checking, refer to => [ Fuel Pump, Testing Electrically ] Vehicles With Front Wheel Drive as of 11.2004
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Delivery Unit ] With FWD as of 11.04
• After installing, fuel vehicle with at least 5 liters of fuel
2 Fuel Level Sensor (G)
• Resistance values, checking, refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor, Checking ] Vehicles With Front Wheel Drive as of 11.2004
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor ] With FWD as of 11.04
3 Suction jet pipe
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
4 Seal
• Replace
• Install dry
5 Fuel return line
• From fuel filter
• Mark before removing
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
• Do not kink
• Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
• Clipped in on fuel tank
6 Fuel supply line
• To fuel filter
• Mark before removing
• To disconnect, press release button on connection piece
• Do not kink
• Note direction of arrow (fuel supply or return) on locking flange when installing
• Clipped in on fuel tank
7 Electrical harness connector
• For Fuel level sensor (G)
• For Transfer Fuel Pump (FP) (G6)
8 Locking ring
• Use wrench (T10202) for removal and installation
• Tighten to 145 Nm.
9 Suction Jet Pump
