DTC Memory, Erasing

Requirements

• Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory checking. Refer to => [ DTC Memory Checking ] DTC Memory Checking.

• All DTCs corrected.

After DTC scan has been performed:

Display on vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051)





- Touch - 1 - diagnostic function "05 Erase DTC memory".

Display on vehicle diagnostic testing and information system (VAS 5051):

• No display (before erasing)

or

• DTC memory erased

• If the message: "DTC memory has not been read yet" appears in display field - 1 -, the test procedure was not followed exactly. The DTC memory can only be erased if the DTC memory was read previously.

2 Note: Are you sure you want to do this? Note: Data will be deleted!

- Touch OK button in display - 2 -.

- End function "05 Erase DTC memory" by touching arrow button.

- After repair read DTC memory again.

• This erases DTCs which were stored during repair of the malfunction, for example by removing harness connectors.

- After reading and deleting DTC memory, test drive vehicle and read DTC memory again.

DTC memory must display:

"No DTC recognized"
