Condition

^ Locking or unlocking the doors using the remote transmitter is not possible with one or both keys. In some cases the remote functionality is temporarily restored by switching ignition on and off again.

^ If RVU code IG is open in the ElsaWeb campaign view inquiry screen, complete IG RVU. Only continue with this bulletin if the condition still remains.

New remote transmitter key.

The part number is on the key and can be viewed after unfolding the key blade as in Figure 1.

1. Ask the customer to bring along all their keys to the service appointment (including spare keys) as all keys must be adapted to the immobilizer and central comfort control unit.

2. Replace keys as indicated by the following instructions:

^ For remote keys with part number 8E0 837 220A, replace all remote keys, not only the faulty ones, using the replacement kit containing two remote keys - see table below for part number information.

^ For remote keys with part number 8E0 837 220F or 8E0 837 220L, only the faulty keys are to be replaced.

^ For remote keys with part number 8E0 837 220R, first check the remote battery voltage - the static voltage must be >= 2.9 volts. Replace the battery if necessary and resynchronize the keys. Only replace the key if the complaint occurs again.

3. Destroy faulty remote keys.
