Shift Interlock: Adjustments
Locking Cable Adjusting
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Adjustment pin for shift lock 3 (3352 A)
• Safety glasses
Work preparations
• The procedure described below will save you the effort of removing the center console.
- Cut through the adjustment pin for shift lock 3 ( 3352 A) at the rear end of the flat area - arrow - using a cutting grinder.
CAUTION!
Wear eye protection.
- Order a new adjustment pin for the shift lock as a replacement for other use.
Work Procedure
- Position the steering wheel column adjustment all the way and back toward driver's seat.
- Remove the cover for the shift mechanism. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism Cover ] Shift Mechanism Cover.
- Remove the ashtray from the center console.
- Place the selector lever in the "P" position.
- Loosen bolt - 1 -.
• The support bracket - 2 - for the locking cable must be movable by hand
- Insert the adjustment pin for shift lock 3 (3352 A) between the pin on the locking cable lever and the locking cable eye.
- Pull the locking cable in the direction of the - arrow - and tighten the bolt to 10 Nm.
- Remove the adjustment pin.
- Check the ignition key removal lock after every adjustment of locking cable. Refer to => [ Shift Mechanism Checking ] Shift Mechanism Checking.
