Test Table

Display Group Number 001 (Part 1):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Display Group Number 001 (Part 2):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Note on display group number 001, display fields 2 and 3:

Test condition: Shifting must be completed. Vehicle not decelerating (not driving downhill or engine braking).

Display Group Number 001 (Part 3):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

* The Transmission Control Module (TCM) is equipped with automatic gear slaving. The forward gear, which the Transmission Control Module (TCM) would activate during a driving mode change with the selector lever in "D", is displayed.

Notes on display group number 001, display field 4:

Faulty solenoid valves or other diagnosed faults can prevent a specific gear from being engaged.

Display Group Number 002 (Part 1):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Display Group Number 002 (Part 2):

Display Group Number 003:

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Display Group Number 004 (Part 1):

Notes on ATF temperature:

A detected temperature of -50 °C indicates a short circuit to ground.

A detected temperature of 180 °C indicates a short circuit to B+ or an open circuit.

Display Group Number 004 (Part 2):

Notes on the intermediate positions:

If the selector lever is shifted into one of the intermediate positions mentioned, "Z1", "Z2" or "Z3" is shown on the display. No selected gear must be shown in the display in the instrument cluster , that is to say, only PRNDS is displayed, without a gear being lit up.

Display Group Number 004 (Part 3):

Notes on display field 3 in display group number 004:

The input signals for Multi-function Transmission Range (TR) Switch (F125) can be checked at the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

Display Group Number 004 (Part 4):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Display Group Number 005 (Part 1):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Note on the solenoid valves:

Non-switched (inactive) solenoid valves are shown with "0", switched (active) solenoid valves are shown with "X".

Display Group Number 005 (Part 2):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

* Solenoid Valve 3 (N90) is actuated only briefly during certain shift operations.

Note on the solenoid valves:

Non-switched (inactive) solenoid valves are shown with "0", switched (active) solenoid valves are shown with "X".

Display Group Number 006:

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Note on specified current for pressure control valves:

Faulty solenoid or pressure control valves, clutches or other faults can prevent a specific gear from being engaged.

Display Group Number 007 (Part 1):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Note on specified current for pressure control valves:

Faulty solenoid or pressure control valves, clutches or other faults can prevent a specific gear from being engaged.

Display Group Number 007 (Part 2):

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Test conditions for torque converter slip RPM:

"Converter clutch closed" The shift must be completed (wait at least 1 second ), the torque converter lockup clutch (WK) must be closed and accelerator pedal value must be constant.

"Converter clutch control": The values given apply to the "adjusted condition" of the converter clutch. Under unfavorable conditions (for example, accelerating on a hill) this condition will not be reached until 20 seconds after the completion of the shift. During this adjustment phase, slip values up to 350 RPM can be reached.

Excessive converter slip RPM figures can also indicate slipping clutches or servos not activated.

Display Group Number 008:

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

* Kickdown point passed at throttle pedal.

Display Group Number 009:

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Note on display field 1

The signal for actual engine torque is transmitted by the Engine Control Module (ECM) over the CAN-bus circuit to the Transmission Control Module (TCM)

Display Group Number 010:

* While driving: A second technician is needed to read the specified values.

Display Group Number 011:

* You must activate the upshift switch (+) by tapping the selector lever forward. On vehicles with multi-function steering wheel the upshift switch has to be activated by additionally tapping the upper left or right button (+) on the steering wheel.

* You must activate the downshift switch (-) by tapping the selector lever to the rear. On vehicles with multi-function steering wheel the downshift switch has to be activated by additionally tapping the lower left or right button (-) on the steering wheel.

Display Group Number 012:

Display Group Number 013:

Note on display group number 013:

Display field 2 and 4: When the Engine Control Module (ECM) is replaced, the same display as on the old control module must appear after installing the new control module. If this is not the case, the wrong Engine Control Module (ECM) has been installed, or it has been incorrectly coded.

Display Group Number 125:

Notes on display group number 125

If "1" is displayed, communication from the corresponding control module to the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is OK.

If "0" is displayed and no fault has been set in the DTC memory, the corresponding control module does not have CAN capability (or is faulty).
