Hood, Adjusting





1 - Hood

Disconnect line to windshield washer system and unclip line.

Second person is required to support and lift hood.

Remove gas-filled strut - 4 - from hood - 1 -. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Hood.

Remove nuts - 6 -.

Remove hood.

Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal.

Adjusting:

Align hood - 1 - between fenders.

Adjust height of hood at hood lock. refer to => [ Lower part of Hood Lock ] Hood.

Hood can be adjusted for height relative to fenders by adjusting buffer stops. Refer to => [ Height Adjustment Stop Buffer ] Hood

Panel gap dimensions. Refer to => [ Hood Panel Gap Dimensions ] .

4 - Gas strut

Removing and Installing. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Hood

5 - Ball head pin

14 Nm

6 - Hex nut

21 Nm

7 - Combination screw

21 Nm

8 - Hood hinge

To remove, hood - 1 - must be removed or propped up securely.

Panel gap dimensions

Check panel gap dimensions with adjusting gauge (3371).





Dimension - A - = 5.5 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - B - = 5.5 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - C - = 3.5 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - D - = 4 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - E - = 1.5 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - F - = 1.5 mm ± 0.5 mm

Dimension - G - = 2.5 mm ± 0.5 mm.

Gas-filled Strut, Venting





CAUTION!
Clamp only within this area, otherwise accident could occur!

Always wear eye protection when sawing.

- Clamp area - x - of the gas strut in the vise, area - x - = 50 mm.

- Saw into the cylindrical part of strut in the first third of the total cylinder length, determined starting from the edge of the cover on the side with the piston rod.
