Rear Body Acceleration Sensor
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)
Removing
• The Rear Body Acceleration Sensor (G343) is located behind the left wheel housing trim near the upper shock absorber threaded connection.
- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
- Remove wheel trim cap, remove cover cap on light-alloy wheels (removal hook in vehicle tool kit).
- Remove the wheel.
- Remove the left rear wheel housing liner.
- Disconnect connector - 1 -.
• Pay attention to the installed position of the rear body acceleration sensor.
- Remove the nuts - arrows - and the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 -.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
• The tip of the arrow - 3 - of the rear body acceleration sensor must point the driving direction.
- Install the nuts - arrows - for the body acceleration sensor and tighten to 6 Nm.
- Connect the connector - 1 -.
- Install the left rear wheel housing liner.
- Mount wheel and tighten.
- Place vehicle on wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.
- Check the body acceleration signal. Refer to => [ Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal ] Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal.
