Rear Body Acceleration Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

The Rear Body Acceleration Sensor (G343) is located behind the left wheel housing trim near the upper shock absorber threaded connection.

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Remove wheel trim cap, remove cover cap on light-alloy wheels (removal hook in vehicle tool kit).

- Remove the wheel.

- Remove the left rear wheel housing liner.

- Disconnect connector - 1 -.






Pay attention to the installed position of the rear body acceleration sensor.

- Remove the nuts - arrows - and the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 -.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

The tip of the arrow - 3 - of the rear body acceleration sensor must point the driving direction.






- Install the nuts - arrows - for the body acceleration sensor and tighten to 6 Nm.

- Connect the connector - 1 -.

- Install the left rear wheel housing liner.

- Mount wheel and tighten.

- Place vehicle on wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on Hoist and Wheels.

- Check the body acceleration signal. Refer to => [ Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal ] Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal.
