Telephone/Telematics Control Module

If the Telephone/Telematic Control Module is replaced, the OnStar(R) system needs to be reconfigured => [ Telephone/Telematics Control Module, Replacing and Reconfiguring ]. Telematics

DO NOT exchange Telephone/Telematic Control Modules between vehicles! Each module contains specific Station Identification (STID) and Electronic Serial Number (ESN) data unique to the VIN. This data is used by OnStar(R) and National Cellular Telephone Network to identify the vehicle and administer the customer's account.

CAUTION!
Switch off all electrical components.

Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

Removing

- Move the driver's seat completely to the rear.

CAUTION!
Activate Telematics Service Mode => [ Telematics Service Mode, Activating and Deactivating ] Description and Operation

- Fold back the floor mat.

- Disengage cover of electronics box and open the box - arrows -.





Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526) and Emergency Battery (Telematics) (A16) are only wedged into the electronics box.

- Pry Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526) - 1 - out of electronics box - 2 - in - direction of arrow -.





- Disconnect all harness connectors at Telephone/Telematics Control Module (J526).

- Remove Emergency Battery (Telematics) (A16).

Installing

- Install in reverse order.

Ensure correct seating and fit of electrical connections.

Antenna connections (couplings) must be properly aligned and tight to ensure proper reception.
