Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)
• Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)
- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault-Finding" routine.
Use the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 5051) to do so.
CAUTION!
• Switch off all electrical components.
• Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
Removing
In order to be able to remove Satellite Radio (R146), the mounting frame with Rear DVD Changer (R162) and Multimedia Signal Splitter (R181) must be removed first.
- Remove left luggage compartment side trim.
- Remove bolt - 2 - (3 Nm).
- Remove Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module (J401) with mounting frame - 1 - => [ Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module ] Removal and Replacement.
- Remove nuts - 3 -, - 5 - and - 6 - (3 Nm) on mounting frame - 4 -.
- Carefully pull mounting frame - 4 - out of installation recess and disconnect left harness connector to vehicle wiring harness.
- Disconnect harness connectors on Satellite Radio (R146).
- Fit the Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - on to the MOST-Bus connector - 2 -.
- Tip mounting frame with Rear DVD Changer (R162) downward.
- Remove bolts - arrows - (3 Nm) on Satellite Radio (R146) - 1 -.
- Remove Satellite Radio (R146) - 1 - from mounting frame - 2 -.
Installing
- Install in reverse order.
