Toothed Belt Drive Assembly Overview
• Before removing the toothed belt, mark the running direction with chalk or a felt tip pen. A reversed running direction can cause damage to the belt under operating conditions.
1 Bolt, 10 Nm
2 Mounting Pin
3 20 Nm + 90° (1/4) additional turn
• Always replace.
4 Washer
• For the tensioning roller.
5 Bolt, 40 Nm
6 Tensioning Roller
7 Tensioning Lever
• Insert washer - item 30 -.
8 Bolt, 22 Nm
9 Bolt, 55 Nm
• Always replace.
• Grease the threads and head seating surface.
10 Securing Plate
• Always replace.
• Side with writing "rear hinten" points toward the rear.
11 Right Camshaft Gear
• When removing and installing, remove the toothed belt. Refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] Toothed Belt.
• Remove the gear using the puller (T40001) and the claws (T40001/2).
12 Bolt, 10 Nm
• Install using locking fluid.
13 Right Rear Toothed Belt Guard
14 Idler Roller
15 Pin Bolt, 9 Nm
16 Bolt, 14 Nm
• Strength class 10.9.
17 Coolant Pump
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Coolant Pump ] Coolant Pump.
18 Gasket
• Always replace.
19 Left Rear Toothed Belt Guard
20 Bolt, 10 Nm
• Install using locking fluid.
21 Nut, 10 Nm
22 Left Camshaft Gear
• When removing and installing, remove the toothed belt. Refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] Toothed Belt.
• Remove using the puller (T40001) and the claws (T40001/2).
23 Securing Plate
• Always replace.
• Side with writing "rear hinten" points toward the rear.
24 Bolt, 55 Nm
• Always replace.
• Grease the threads and head seating surface.
25 Toothed Belt
• Before removing, mark the direction of rotation using chalk or a felt tip pen.
• Check for wear.
• Removing, refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] Toothed Belt.
• Installing, (adjusting valve timing), refer to => [ Toothed Belt ] Toothed Belt.
26 Eccentric Roller
27 Bolt, 45 Nm
28 Crankshaft Toothed Belt Gear
• There must be no oil on the contact surface between the toothed belt sprocket and the crankshaft.
• Only possible to install in one position.
29 200 Nm + 180° (1/2) additional turn
• Always replace.
• Do not add lubricant.
• Use the crankshaft holder (3242) for loosening and tightening.
• Install the crankshaft holder (3242) in the hole for the locking bolt in the upper oil pan, refer to => [ Toothed Belt. ] Toothed Belt.
30 Washer
• For the tension lever.
