Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels
Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels
Raising with Air suspension System Not Open
- Before raising the vehicle using a hoist, activate the "Lift" (highest level) and switch the "vehicle lift mode" on. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] General Information.
This ensures that the hoist arms can pivot under the vehicle and the air suspension system will not make any unintended adjustments.
- Position the hoist lifting arms under intended lift points on the longitudinal members and raise the vehicle.
Lowering with Air Suspension System Not Closed
- Lower the hoist and place the vehicle on its wheels.
- Swing back the hoist lifting arms.
- Switch off "vehicle lift mode" and set desired driving mode. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] General Information.
• "Vehicle lift mode" is automatically deactivated when the vehicle speed exceeds 10 km/h.
Lowering with Air Suspension System Open
- Lower the hoist and place the vehicle on its wheels.
- Switch the ignition on and switch the "vehicle lift mode" off. Refer to => [ Vehicle Lift Mode ] General Information.
The pressure reservoir "inflates" the air spring damper.
If the vehicle is not high enough to pivot the hoist lifting arms back (insufficient pressure in the pressure reservoir), run the engine at idle. This switches the air supply unit compressor on.
- The air suspension system can also be filled using the VAS 5051/5052 "Guided Fault Finding" Function. Refer to => [ System Venting or Filling ] Level Control System.
