TV System, through 29 August 2008

The TV system is part of the MMI Infotainment system.

The MOST bus connects the TV tuner (R78) and the DVD player (R7) (inside the glove compartment) to the other MMI Infotainment components. Operation is performed via the Multimedia Control Head (E380).

For regions with digital TV reception (DVB-T), a Digital TV Tuner can also be installed. Digital TV Tuner is operated using a separate remote control.

Digital TV Tuner is not integrated into any BUS system and only has limited diagnostic capabilities via the analog TV Tuner.

Signals of rear window antennae reach the Digital TV Tuner via the Antenna Amplifier (R24) and from there to the TV Tuner (looped in).

As of model year 06, a "hybrid"-TV Tuner for reception of analog and digital TV broadcasts have been installed.

Fault finding of the analog/hybrid TV Tuner is performed via "Guided Fault Finding" using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS5051).
