Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 60 number 08-27 dated December 1, 2008 for reasons listed below.

Affected Vehicles

Condition

^ Sunroof cannot be opened to lift position when the switch is held in the pressed position.

^ If the switch is only pressed briefly, the function is correct.

Technical Background

Due to a software concern, the sunroof drive unit may lose its initialization.

Production Solution

Only sunroof drive units with modified software are installed at the factory.

Service

1. Replace the sunroof drive unit.

2. Perform initialization of sunroof drive unit. (Refer to ELSA service information.)

a. Close sunroof from the lift or slide position.

b. Pull and hold the sunroof switch in the down position (pulling the switch as if closing the sunroof from the vented position). After holding the switch in the down position for several seconds, the sunroof drive unit will click for several seconds.

c. While the drive unit is clicking, release the sunroof switch, and then again pull and hold the switch in the down position.

d. Continue holding the switch until all positions (sliding position fully open/closed/lift position fully open/closed) have been performed and the resistance values stored.
