Fuel Level Sensor 4, Checking, Right Tubular Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Hand-Held Multimeter (V.A.G 1526D)

Connector Test Set (V.A.G 1594C)

Procedure

- Remove the Ω.

- Unbolt cover for right locking flange - arrows -.





- Disconnect electrical harness connector - 2 - at right locking flange.





Ignore - 1 -.

- Connect multimeter between terminal - 2 - and - 3 - of connector - A - for resistance measurement.










If measured value is 0 Ohms there is a short circuit. If measured value is Greater than 1K Ohms there is an open circuit in the wiring.

To check resistance values "tank full" or "tank empty", the Fuel Level Sensor 4 (G393) must be removed. Refer to => [ Fuel Level Sensor 4, Right Tubular Sensor ] Fuel Level Sensor 4, Right Tubular Sensor and the sensor floater must be allowed to float to upper or lower end position.
