Tire pressure monitoring system, servicing

General information
Note the "Resetting the Tire Monitoring System".

Damaged wheel electronics or valves must be replaced for safety reasons.

Do not clean wheel electronics with steam cleaners or strong compressed air jet.

Wheel electronics must be replaced, after using a tire sealing fluid, due to erroneous measurements caused by deposits of tire sealing fluid at pressure sensor

The tire pressure monitoring system monitors the air pressure of the four road wheels and spare during travel.

On Board Diagnostic (OBD)
A Diagnostic Trouble Coded (DTC) will be loaded into DTC memory when:
^ Transporting an additional wheel equip with wheel electronics
^ When less than three wheels with wheel electronics are installed

Note: When replacing wheels with wheel electronics (summer-winter wheels), the wheel electronics is adapted automatically by the control module.
