Removal and Replacement






Adaptive Cruise Control Sensor

The Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) sensor is located behind the front bumper cover.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (5-60 Nm) (VAG 1783)

Removing

- Remove the front bumper cover.

- Disengage the clip - 1 - for the wiring harness - 2 -.





- Remove the bolts - 1 -.





- Remove the sensor with the bracket and disconnect the electrical connector.

- Remove the sensor from the bracket if necessary.

Installing

Studs in bracket are preset. Do not change the adjustment.

- Lay the bracket on a level surface.

- Align the clips - 2 - on the studs - 1 -.





- Carefully press the sensor - 3 - on by hand until the clips - 2 - engage in the sensor.

- Install the bolts - 1 - and tighten them to 8 Nm.





- Install the front bumper cover.

- Calibrate the ACC, refer to one of the following:
