Secondary Air Injection Combination Valve, Checking

Test sequence

- Select measuring value "Test ID 03: Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system" and check if specified values are attained => [ Diagnostic Mode 06 - Read Test Results for Specific Diagnostic Functions ] Diagnostic Modes 01 - 09, Diagnostic mode 6: Check test results of components that are not continuously monitored.

- End diagnosis and switch ignition off.

If specifications are not obtained:





- Disconnect pressure hose - 1 - at combination valve for secondary air injection.

Ignore - arrows -.

Connect an appropriate assisting hose to the combination valve.

- Blow into the assisting hose using light pressure (do not use pressurized air).

Combination valve must be closed, it must not be possible to blow through.

- Blow into the assisting hose using higher pressure (do not use pressurized air).

The combination valve must open, it must be possible to blow through.

If switching point is not recognized:

- Replace the combination valve: Left and right,

- Repeat function test.

- Check hoses and hose connections for secure seating.

- Repeat function test.

If malfunction is no longer present:

- Erase DTC memory of Engine Control Module => [ Diagnostic Mode 04 - Erase DTC Memory ] Diagnostic Modes 01 - 09, Diagnostic mode 4: Reset/erase diagnostic data.

- Generate readiness code => [ Readiness Code, Generating ] Monitors, Trips, Drive Cycles and Readiness Codes.
