Rear Body Acceleration Sensor

Rear Body Acceleration Sensor

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (5-50 Nm) (VAG 1331)

Removing

The rear body acceleration sensor (G343) is installed on the right side behind the wheel housing trim near the air spring damper.

- Place the vehicle on a hoist. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.

- Remove the wheel covers, remove the cover cap on light alloy wheels (removal hook in vehicle tool kit).

- Remove the wheel.

- Secure the brake disc with a wheel bolt.

- Remove the right rear wheel housing liner.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 1 -.





- Remove the nut - arrow - and the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 -.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Observe the following when doing so:

- Tighten the nut - arrow - for the rear body acceleration sensor - 2 - to 9 Nm.





- Connect the electrical connector - 1 -.

- Check the body acceleration signal. Refer to => [ Body Acceleration Sensor, Checking Acceleration Signal ] Component Tests and General Diagnostics.

- Install the right rear wheel housing liner.

- Install the wheel and tighten.

- Place the vehicle on its wheels. Refer to => [ Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels ] Positioning Vehicle on the Hoist and on its Wheels.
