Measurement Procedure

Measurement procedure

The following equipment is required:

^ Electronic wheel alignment unit; e.g. V.A.G 1813
^ Make sure that the sliding plates and turntables are not touching the end stop when checking the alignment.
^ Vehicle accurately aligned, suspension bounced and rocked several times
^ The test equipment must be properly adjusted and attached to the vehicle (see equipment manufacturers instructions).
- Perform wheel rim runout compensation.

Note: Compensation of wheel rim runout: A certain amount of lateral runout at the wheel rims is permissible, but this may already exceed the specified toe-in tolerance. In such cases it is not possible to correctly set the toe-in without performing the wheel runout compensation.

- Insert brake pedal depressor.
