Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, Testing

Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, Testing

The housing for the throttle valve control module contains the following components:
- Throttle drive (power accelerator actuation) -G186-.

(This is an electric motor that is operated by the engine control module. The motor has to overcome spring pressure in order to open the throttle valve.)
- Angle sensor -1- for throttle drive (power accelerator actuation) -G187-
- Angle sensor -2- for throttle drive (power accelerator actuation) -G188-

NOTE:
- The housing for the throttle valve control module must not be opened.
- The angle sensors are potentiometers with variable resistance. They inform the engine control module of the position of the throttle valve and are completely independent of each other.
- It is not possible to adjust the potentiometers mechanically. Adjustments can be made using vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, diagnosis function "04 - Basic settings".
