Control Module, Coding (Function 07)

Coding A/C Control Head -E87-

NOTE:
- The basic setting must be performed after each coding operation.
- If the display of a newly installed A/C Control Head -E87- flashes (for approx. 2 minutes) after the ignition has been switched on, code the A/C Control Head -E87- and perform basic setting.

- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST).
- Press buttons -0- and -8- to insert "AC/Heating Electronics" address word 08 and advance program until "Select function XX" appears on display.
- Switch printer on by pressing PRINT button (indicator lamp in button comes on).

NOTE:
The -> button is used to advance through the program sequence.
- Code A/C Control Head -E87- according to vehicle type, engine and export version.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

After a short delay, the control module identification (version), coding and dealership number (where the control module was coded) are displayed ("Klimavollautomat" = fully automatic air conditioner).

- Perform basic setting.

NOTE:
- Any invalid codes entered in the A/C Control Head -E87- are ignored and coding "00001"is stored as a default.
- Allocation of the A/C Control Head -E87- (dependent on vehicle equipment).
