1 - Valve timing housing
^ Check filter for dirt
^ Lightly coat contact surfaces of oil seals before installing
2 - 8 Nm
^ Replace
3 - Camshaft timing chain
^ Mark rotation direction before removing Go to Fig. 1
4 - Camshaft adjuster - exhaust
^ Identification: 32A
5 - Intermediate shaft
6 - Thrust washer
7 - 8 Nm
^ Install using locking fluid
8 - Guide rail for timing chain
^ To remove it is first necessary to remove both upper and lower covers for timing chains
9 - Pivot pin
10 - Chain tensioner for camshaft timing chain, 40 Nm
11 - Seal
^ Replace if damaged or leaking
12 - Sprocket for drive chain for valve gear
13 - Sprocket for camshaft timing chain
14 - 60 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4 turn) further
^ Replace
^ When loosening and tightening, counterhold vibration damper with counterhold tool T10069
15 - Chain tensioner with guide rail
^ For drive chain
^ Before installing, release locking spline in chain tensioner with a small screwdriver and press guide rail against chain tensioner
16 - Drive sprocket chain
^ Integral part of chain
17 - Drive chain for valve gear
^ Mark rotation direction before removing Go to Fig. 1
18 - Guide rail for drive chain for valve gear
19 - Pin, 10 Nm
^ For guide rail
20 - 18 Nm
21 - 23 Nm
22 - Camshaft adjuster - intake
^ Identification: 24E
23 - 60 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4 turn) further
^ Replace
^ Contact surface of sender wheel at bolt head must be dry when installing
^ To remove and install: counterhold with 32 mm open end wrench on camshaft
24 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
25 - Valve -1- for camshaft adjustment -N205-
^ For intake camshaft
^ Mark electrical connector before disconnecting
26 - Camshaft adjustment valve 1 (exhaust) -N318-
^ For exhaust camshaft
^ Mark electrical connector before disconnecting
27 - Guide rail for camshaft timing chain
^ Clipped onto valve timing housing
