Poly V-belt, removing and installing

Removing





- Remove screw -1- and remove cover over coolant expansion tank (arrow).

Note:
Before removing, mark the direction of rotation of the poly V-belt with chalk or a felt-tipped pen. If the belt runs in the opposite direction when it is reinstalled, this can cause breakage. Ensure that the belt is properly seated in the pulleys when installing.





- To release tension of poly V-belt, screw an M8 x 40 bolt (arrow) into bore on tensioning element.
- Remove poly V-belt from Generator pulley.





- Remove fasteners -1... 3- and center sound insulation.





- Remove right sound insulation (arrows).
- Remove poly V-belt from remaining pulleys.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Before installing the poly V-belt ensure that all mechanical units (Generator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump) are tightened.





- Place poly V-belt on pulleys in following order: -1... 6-





- Release tension of tensioning element as necessary by loosening bolt (arrow).
- Check poly V-belt for proper seating.
- Start engine and check that belt runs properly.
