Shift Interlock: Adjustments

Locking cable, adjusting, 02E, 6 Speed Direct Shift A/T, AWD

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required





^ Locking cable adjustment gauge 3352 A

CAUTION! To adjust the locking cable always proceed as described below.

Requirements
^ Locking cable is in installed position
^ Rear center console has been removed.
^ Selector lever is in position "P"
^ Ignition key is in removal position.

Adjusting
^ Steering column in lowest/rear most position.

CAUTION! Follow steps required when disconnecting battery.

Note: The battery is located in the rear compartment, in the spare wheel well.

- Disconnect ground strap on battery (in rear compartment) with ignition switched off.
- Remove selector lever handle.
- Remove rear center console.
- Remove selector mechanism cover.





- Loosen bolt at support bracket.
- Fit locking cable adjustment gauge 3352 A between locking lever - 1 - and locking cable eye - 2 -.
- To compensate for play, pull support bracket up to limit stop in direction of arrow to insert gauge.
- Tighten bolt - B - at support bracket (10 Nm).
- Remove adjustment gauge.
- Check operation of ignition key withdrawal lock.
- Install selector mechanism cover.
- Install rear center console.
- Install selector lever handle.
- Connect ground strap to battery.
- Follow steps required after connecting battery.
