Sunlight Photo Sensor -G107-, Removing And Installing

NOTE:
- Different defroster vent versions may be installed in production. They differ as follows:

- Versions "1" and "2" can only be removed as a complete unit.







- With version "2", damage-free removal may not be possible as the locating fixture may break.







- With version "3" the defroster vent is comprised of two sections (the vent section may be removed separately). With vent removed, photo sensor can be removed as described for version "1")

Photo sensor with defroster vent version "1', removing:







- Carefully disengage catches -A- between instrument panel and vent using a small screwdriver -B-.
- Remove vent -C- in direction of -arrow- as illustrated.







- Remove screw -A-.
- Remove photo sensor -B-.
- Disconnect electrical connection -C-.

NOTE: If VAG 1551 Scan Tool display shows a constant value of around 90% when reading the measuring value block for A/C control head -E87-, (Display Group 006), check wiring and terminal assignments to -E87- connector -C- according to wiring diagram (wiring may be improperly connected).
